“ Best Mexican food in joplin! Service was also great! They were so nice and the restaurant was very clean! ”
“ Great service , great food. Loved the vibe of the restaurant it really gives family and friends type of vibe. I had their caldo de res and I must say it's the best one in town.i will definitely comeback again soon ! ”
“ We highly recommend Lucy's Mexican Restaurant!! We had a blast!!! If you get this server you know he LOVES his customers! We were laughing so much!! We hadn't had good authentic Mexican food since we moved from Texas. Lucy's gave us exactly what we were missing! The food was FANTASTIC! The atmosphere had us feeling like we were back home! The address we found in google maps was different and wrong. We had to find the address on Facebook. It was worth the extra effort to find their location! Go and see for yourself! So good! ”
“ So a big problem is that YELP has the wrong address so I drove way out of my way and when I called and got right address they acted like I was an idiot! When I picked up order I tried to explain they had an issue to be concerned with as Yelp is sending their new customers to the wrong place and they acted like they didn't know what I was talking about. Good food so not giving bad review but they need to address this. ”
“ We love Lucy's!!! Tamales are the best. My chimichanga was yummerz!!! Shrimp salad was good as well. Guacamole is a winner!!! Like their new location. ”
“ Since I'm in town for such a short time and these two visits were two days apart, this is two visits in one review. This restaurant doesn't look like much from the outside, so don't judge the book by it's cover. On our first visit my sister had the Enfrioladas y huevo which looked good, smelled good and tasted good, especially with the tomatillo salsa on it. Since this is one of the few places in town with a breakfast burrito (con chorizo), that's what I ordered - chorizo, scrambled eggs, cheese, rice, beans and potatoes. A good burrito made even better by the tomatillo salsa I put on it. I walked full and happy! No fruit punch Jarritos so I ordered strawberry instead - good enough visit to warrant a second visit two days later. ::: Our second visit, my sister ordered the Huevos con chorizo plate. Well, second verse same as the first - looked, smelled and tasted good! Topped off with the tomatillo salsa once again. I ordered something that caught my eye the first time, the Pambazos. The taste was absolutely outstanding. The Mexican bread (roll or hoagie bun of some sort) was covered in a "special red sauce" (I'm assuming an ancho chili sauce but maybe not), which by itself tasted about as good as anything else on its own. I would buy those covered rolls to eat at home or make a Mexican-style sub sandwich out of it. The chorizo, potatoes, lettuce, sour cream and queso fresco was nice in flavor and contrast. My only complaint is there's no wrap on it so when you try to pick it up, you lose a third of the filling. I set it back on my plate, opened it up, put some tomatillo salsa on it and then ate it with a fork. The flavor is an A+, having such a loose sandwich without a paper wrap all around it so you don't lose the filling is an F. I LOVE the Pambazos, it just needs better preparation/presentation. They need to bottle their tomatillos salsa and sell it, it's good stuff. I'll probably get back here one more time before I leave town and I'm torn between the great flavor of the Pambazos or the ease of eating of the breakfast burrito. ”
“ Overall: Lucy's serves up good Mexican food at great prices with great service too! Food: 4 Quesadilla: You can choose from any of the meats that they have. We got it with carne asada. It's a little small, but it was filling enough with the rice and beans. Chimichanga: Again, you can choose any tule of meat. We got it with carne asada. This was a little different from the chimichangas that I had on the west coast. It was smaller, less deep fried, and used a queso, but it was still pretty good. The queso was especially nice. I just wished it was crispier like the ones of the west coast! Lunch Enchilada Plate: Two enchiladas come with the meat of your choice and red or green sauce. I got it with red sauce. It needs a little more sauce in my opinion. California Burrito: This is not a typical California burrito with French fries in it, but it was still very tasty and it was HUGE. The carne asada is super tasty. It taste chargrilled, and it has a nice crisp on the outside. Service: 5 The servers at this restaurant are super nice and very polite. Ambiance: 3 Lucy's is a sit down restaurant, but it isn't as fancy as some of the other ones in town. It is still good for a quick lunch or dinner. ”
“ The food is always excellent, and is truly authentic. This is coming from a Texan and Mexican. The menudo reminds me of home and the Pollo con queso is also amazing. Nothing here has been bad. It's my go to! ”
“ I have been meaning to eat here for AGES and finally, after the billionth person told me how good it is, my husband and I finally went. It's good, guys! Oh my! Started with the guacamole as we always do. Theirs was a good version but not my favorite ever. I thought it needed more lime juice and salt. Preference only. And it was still yummy. Guac is my jam! For entree, I chose the Chorizo tacos topped with a pickled slaw. I LOVED them!! So wonderfully good. Excellent flavor and totally indulgent. Hubby got the Tacos al Pastor with rice and beans and he loved as well. The rice and beans did not taste boxed or canned so maybe they were freshly homemade?! If not, they chose an excellent product. So my bummer was the pork tamale. It didn't come served with a sauce on top so it was kinda dry. Not in a bad way; I'm just used to sauce. Unless the no-sauce was a mistake? I did think they were good though. Just needs a nice chili sauce on top. But the Tortas y'all! Insane. They are HUGE but oh so stinking good! Best I've ever had. I can't even express how much you need to eat this torta. Hubby and I Door Dashed a torta like 2 days later because we couldn't stop thinking about it. Overall - we really liked this place. It's small but mighty. We will go back and back and back again. ”
